God chose You
Dearest Father,
When I think of the fact that You knew me even before I was born, before my parents even had the thought of me it leaves me in deep awe. You chose me for Your purpose in eternity past and it blows my mind. You thought of me even before You said the words “Let there be light.” Thank You. i am so grateful.
Dear reader,
to truly know the heart of God is to believe that He chose you first and you didn’t choose Him first. He had mercy on You and regenerated/transformed your heart so that you can then desire Him and choose Him out of love. The only way to fully worship our Heavenly Father authentically in Spirit and in Truth is to know and trust this Truth. As sinful humans with sinful natures, we cannot choose God. In fact we hate God based on our rebellious lifestyles until He steps in to do His supernatural work in our hearts. We are only able to repent truly because His Holy Spirit has enabled us to do so. We then believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ and joyfully and willingly surrender our hearts and lives to Jesus. This is what is commonly known as “I gave my life to Christ.” He first and foremost gave His life for us to enable us to offer up our lives to Him as our Lord and Savior. Godly repentance and saving faith are gifts from God and cannot originate from sinful man. Salvation begins and ends with God’s AMAZING Grace.
Think of how special and loved you are that the God of the universe thought of you and knew you before the created world came to be. He knew He would come to earth, suffer and die for you in the person of His Son Jesus yet He still chose to. Child of God, you have been eternally loved by our glorious God. This is a reality to truly meditate on. Let it sink deep in your heart. Not everyone is chosen by God for His outpouring of His saving faith. Others destined for destruction continue to choose evil and will never repent out of their own free will. God’s Word says when we humble ourselves and seek Him with all our heart, He will be found. Jeremiah 29:13. Yet those God hasn’t chosen will never do so. God didn’t choose them, yet they are not innocent because we know our God is a just and righteous God. This is a paradoxical Biblical truth and a mystery we will only understand on the other side of Heaven. I find comfort that I know that all of God’s judgements are fair and God is always good, kind, compassionate and abundantly gracious. Child of God, our dearest Father chose You to believe and trust the Gospel of Jesus Christ so you can be in His Presence forever experiencing everlasting joy. I am still in awe and wonder as I type this.
Therefore, dearest saint how can He condemn you to hell when He says in His Word that there is “now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus”? Impossible! Once God chooses you, He doesn’t change His mind. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is an unchanging God. Malachi 3:6. You are so loved by Him beyond Your wildest imagination. He loved you so much He came and died excruciatingly on a cross for you. Why would He do that only to instill fear of hell and doubt of our salvation in our minds and hearts? Fear and doubt are the enemy’s top ploys to keep God’s chosen children in bondage! You are free child of God, “whom the Son sets free is free indeed”!!! Walk in the victory Jesus’ Blood has bought you! You are free from condemnation, free from eternal hellfire, free from the eternal absence of God. It doesn’t matter what you do, what sin you commit your eternal future is secured by His nail-scarred Hands. Your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and can never be erased. Absolutely nothing can snatch you from the Father’s Hands. John 10:28 “I give them (His chosen ones) eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” God’s Word says that absolutely nothing can separate us from His love for us in Christ Jesus in Romans 8:38. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Imagine how much it hurts His heart that some of His children believe the lie that there can’t be assurance of salvation. The lie that we have to work to earn and maintain our salvation. We could never do this. If we could then Jesus came to die for nothing and there is no power in His Blood. This is a big painful life from Satan! Rebuke this in the Mighty Name of Jesus! As a child of God, I am 1000% assured that I am going to heaven once I physically die in this world. The simple reason is because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. He said “It is finished” and I believe this. This assurance came at a high painful price because I was faced with some serious spiritual warfare as the enemy was determined to keep me bound and believing his lies. I dealt with all that so you don’t have to and my testimony of my miraculous deliverance from my marriage may build up your confidence in this.
Once you truly trust that God chose you from eternity past to carry His Son Jesus’ victory you will walk different on this earth. The enemy has already been defeated. No need to fear him. Be aware of his schemes, deceptions and lies but never fear him. Again, he is a defeated foe destined to the eternal lake of fire. Dear child of God, you will come to realize the spiritual authority we carry over all of life’s battles. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against powers, rulers and principalities in high places. As Jesus to His disciples “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:19 We are overcomers because Jesus has already overcome the world. We don’t fear death and it has no sting because Jesus has already conquered the grave and defeated death. We have thus also defeated death because just as the Holy Spirit resurrected our Lord, He will also resurrect us onto eternal life once we die our first and only death in this world. Such glorious hope we have! Such immaculate joy in my heart at this truth! If you operate from this spiritual reality, think of how much freedom, confidence and faith we get to live with in this life. When painful things come up, we never despair because we have a glorious hope awaiting us! We are able to endure suffering and trials with supernatural joy and peace because of the Holy Spirit within us empowering us. We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
Once you trust that you are chosen, redeemed, justified, freed, washed by the Blood of Jesus, you will truly start to fully trust our Father when He says “We know all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28. He said ALL THINGS aka EVERYTHING, not some things. This verse was the anchor for my soul for a year while going through my bitter divorce. It provided me with hope that all the pain and suffering I was enduring would ultimately be for my good. If this is your heart posture to this life on earth, you will be equipped to handle even the most horrific things that come your way. You will find strength and hope in your pain.
There is no sin that our Heavenly Father can’t forgive His children. He knows we will fail constantly but He has also given us the gift of repentance to run back to Him and confess our sin so He can wash us clean and restore us to a joy, love and peace-filled state. His Word promises us this in 1 John 1:9-10, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
You are chosen by God dear Jesus follower, you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a Child of God, the Bride of Christ. You are so favored by the Almighty dear saint. What a priviledge! Humility, thanksgiving and praise should flow from out heart because of this belief. That while you and I were so lost, living in our unrepentant sin, Jesus died for us, saving us from eternal hell. The message of our salvation is the most important reality on earth and for eternity. Ahhh the joy of our salvation! Thank You Jesus for Your sacrifice. This realization creates profound eternal gratitude and incredible joy! Once you come to a true understanding and trust in the Gospel, your heart should overflow with a desire to please God and do His will. You will gladly deny yourself, die to this world and flesh, endure the weight of your cross and follow Him forever! Out of a heart that truly treasures and cherishes his or her salvation comes a passion and commitment to obedience to God’s Will, Way and Word. To love God is to obey Him. The Bible is crystal clear on this on several occasions. A post on this coming soon.
Us loving Jesus is a response to Him loving us first. To Him choosing us first. You and I had absolutely nothing to do with our salvation. Salvation is of God and God only through Jesus Christ by the Power of His Holy Spirit for the praise of His Glory. When the Gospel is shared, some believe it and others do not. Why is this so? This is so because of God’s ordained will in accordance to man’s sinful wicked ways. God chose to show mercy and grace to His chosen ones. Romans 8:29-30 “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, (our sanctification process) that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” God is God and is Sovereign over everything and everyone so He can do whatever He wants. This point is emphasized in Isaiah 45:9 “How terrible it will be for those who argue with the God who made them. They are like one piece of broken pottery among many pieces. The clay does not ask the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ The thing that is made doesn’t say to its maker, ‘You have no hands.’ God is Sovereign.
Therefore, child of God, a God who chose to save you with the cost of His own Blood, loves you so incredibly much. He never wants to harm us and He never tempts us with sin. This world is so broken and painful because of sin. Full assurance of salvation brings acceptance of this fact as His Word declares. He is with us always every second of our lives. He is closer than our next breath, closer than our skin. The key to maintain this assurance of salvation is to keep trusting Him and striving to be obedient to His Word. Staying in constant prayer, studying His Word, being in a Bible-believing church doing life with a community of true believers. You will then be truly satisfied with God. Abide in Him, and your soul will experience joy inexplicable, peace beyond human comprehension and love overflowing to yourself and others. These are some of the fruits of the Holy Spirit with every fruit flowing out of Divine love.
Once you truly believe the truth that you were chosen by God among the billions of people on earth and He gave you the faith to believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and bore your shame and sin and freed you from the power of sin, life is truly paradise. You will understand the parable of the man who found a precious pearl in a field and went home and sold all his possessions and came back to buy the entire field.
I will never stop being amazed and in wonder of His great unfailing love for us His children. He is so quick to rescue me each time I call out to Him as He promises in His Word. Psalms 34:17 “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.” He should be the first person you run to when life gets overwhelming. Imagine a toddler falling and scraping their knee, the first person they run to for comfort is their parent and their mom and dad kiss their booboos away. This is the same for us with our Heavenly Father. He longs for us to run to Him, not just when we are overwhelmed or hurt but everyday and for everything so He can kiss our booboos away with His LovingKindness.
Dearest child of God, never doubt the love of God. I know life circumstances might lead you to believe otherwise. He loves you with an everlasting love. His love will never fail you. It may not feel like it in your suffering but He is bigger than our feelings and will reveal the bigger picture down the line. He promises to never forsake us. He chose you from eternity past so you can spend eternity future with Him as He intended before wicked sin entered the world due to human disobedience. He provided a way for us to get back in communion with Him through His precious Son Jesus, who is God Himself. There is nothing that He wouldn’t do for you dearest brother and sister in Christ. He doesn’t have plans to harm you, but to prosper you and give you a future. He is pouring out His Divine Healing love on His children. We just need to open our hearts to receive it. He is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting God and Prince of Peace. An incredibly loving Father. There is nothing He wouldn’t do for you and there is nothing impossible for Him to do.
My prayer is that if you don’t already truly believe all the above may the Holy Spirit convict you of this Biblical Truth about our loving God so you can worship Him from this incredible humble heart posture. May His marvelous love and light shine bright upon your life. May you always chase after Him, continually seek His Presence, abide in His Word and pray without ceasing.
Below are verses from God’s Word that spoke to my heart to write this post.
God loves you so much and I do too.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,
Romans 8:29=30
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth
For many are called, but few are chosen.
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
And not only this, but there was Rebekah also, when she had conceived twins by one man, our father Isaac; for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls, it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger.”
With gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth
He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience
2 Timothy 1:9
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I raised you up, to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the whole earth
Revelations 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.
Glory be to God forever and ever! Praise Jesus!!! Thank You Holy Spirit.
